Hidden Spy Camera - How to Get the Most Out of Yours

Hidden spy cameras are becoming more popular as folks figure out how valuable they can be in a wide variety of settings from home, office or business. Like virtually everything else in the world there is a learning curve. Here's how to get the most out of your video camera.

Spy cameras are just board cameras hidden inside a household or office item to catch someone doing something wrong or possibly illegal. Undercover law enforcers have used hidden cameras for years in stings. They used to be so expensive only government agencies could afford them. Now they are affordable for everyone.

Here's how to get the most out of your spy camera especially using it as a security camera.

1. Read the Instructions-"when all else fails read the directions" is one of my mantras. It should be first.

2. Surveillance Area-determine what area you want covered. Spy cams have limited fields of view usually sixty degrees or so.

3. Hook It Up-hidden cams require a DVR or some recording device record images unless you have the new models with a built in DVR

4. Plug and Test-plug it in and test it to be sure you are covering the area you want.

It really shouldn't be any harder that this. If it is you may be doing it wrong. In any event when you get your hidden spy camera make sure there is adequate customer service and technical service available if you need it. Not all distributors are created equally. Some excel at service-most don't!
